Build the document pack
Gather qualification certificates or equivalency evidence, identity and right-to-work documents, full employment dates and any driving information requested. Do this before a campaign opens so missing evidence does not consume a short application window.
Check route-specific restrictions
On-call roles can require residence or employment within a response time of the station. Wholetime campaigns can use geographic eligibility or reserve lists. Apprenticeship routes can have funding and prior-learning conditions.
Do not self-reject on assumptions
Use the service’s published contact route for a genuine uncertainty, especially around equivalent qualifications or adjustments. Do not rely on an old forum answer when the current pack uses different wording.
Frequently asked questions

Do I need a driving licence?
